In Jaffna More than twenty school children were killed when the Sri Lanka Air Force targeted a Nagercoil schoolboy on 22/09/1995. More than fifty school children were seriously injured. Many of them had lost limbs.
A ten-year-old student who lost a leg with a thigh asked, “Will my leg grow?” This question that freezes the soul deprived me of many nights of sleep. Dr. K. Sujanthan, who was on duty at the operating theater of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital that day, cried before they could tell us about this death.
The Sinhala nation must one day respond to these atrocities, if not today.

A doctor has confirmed that the prosthetic leg in the photo was taken in the area where the heavy fighting took place in Anandapuram.
À Jaffna Plus de vingt écoliers ont été tués lorsque l’armée de l’air sri-lankaise a pris pour cible un écolier de Nagercoil le 22/09/1995. Plus de cinquante écoliers ont été grièvement blessés. Beaucoup d’entre eux avaient perdu des membres.
Un élève de dix ans qui a perdu une jambe avec une cuisse a demandé: “Ma jambe grandira-t-elle?” Cette question qui fige l’âme m’a privé de nombreuses nuits de sommeil. Le Dr K. Sujanthan, qui était de service au bloc opératoire de l’hôpital universitaire de Jaffna ce jour-là, a pleuré avant de pouvoir nous parler de ce décès.
La nation cinghalaise doit un jour répondre à ces atrocités, sinon aujourd’hui.

Un médecin a confirmé que la jambe prothétique sur la photo avait été prise dans la zone où les violents combats ont eu lieu à Anandapuram.
